all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • Sensouji Temple
  • Asakusa "showa-era" town tour
  • Tokyo Sky Tree visit
  • Ginza district tour
  • Meiji Shrine tour

Planner's Notes: I've changed the Tokyo Metropolitan building tour to a visit at Tokyo SkyTree, which is a lot higher than the Metropolitan building, and also in the same vicinity as the rest of the activities for this day. Please note, that it can easily be changed back, but in my personal opinion, having guided groups to both locations, Tokyo SkyTree is a much better location to visit.

Day 3 (4/5): Kamakura

  • two guides
  • breakfast
  • dinner
  • private bus
  • activities mentioned in description

all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • Kamakura tour

all things not mentioned

  • No planned activities on this day

Planner's Notes: No changes to the initially proposed itinerary.

Day 6 (4/8): Kyoto

  • two guides
  • breakfast
  • dinner
  • private bus
  • activities mentioned in description

all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • Nijo Castle visit
  • Tea ceremony experience

Planner's Notes: The tea experience that I currently have planned will include a maiko (a geisha that is still in training). So the experience will also include a q&a session with her, and also time for traditional Kyoto-style entertainment.

Day 7 (4/9): Kyoto

  • two guides
  • breakfast
  • dinner
  • private bus
  • activities mentioned in description

all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • Kenkakuji Temple visit
  • Ryoanji Temple visit
  • Tenryuji Temple visit

Planner's Notes:No changes to the initially proposed itinerary.

Day 8 (4/10): Kyoto

  • two guides
  • breakfast
  • dinner
  • private bus
  • activities mentioned in description

all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • Kiyomizudera Temple visit
  • Ginkakuji Temple visit
  • Fushimi Inari Shrine visit

Planner's Notes: On this day, the only change that I've made is adding Fushimi Inari Shrine to the itinerary. Fushimi Inari is by far the most popular shrine in all of Japan, and it's famous for its thousands of red torii gates that go up the mountain in that area of the same name (Inari). As I know that your guests are seniors and won't want to climb the stair to the top of the mountain, I would keep this experience to the base of the mountain where the main shrine is, and the larger torii gates.

Day 9 (4/11): Osaka

  • two guides
  • breakfast
  • dinner
  • private bus
  • activities mentioned in description

all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • Nara Deer Park
  • Todaiji Temple

Planner's Notes: For this day, I've added Todaiji Temple, and moved the Aqua Liner that was originally on this day to the 13th of April, because logistically it would be more feasible, since the activities on that day are in the vicinity of the canal where the boats run. This easily be switched back, however.

Day 10 (4/12): Osaka

  • two guides
  • breakfast
  • dinner
  • activities mentioned in description

all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • Osaka Castle visit
  • Museum of Housing and Living
  • TeamLab Botanical Gardens

Planner's Notes: For this day, the floating observatory deck was mentioned, however it was also mentioned on the following day, so I wanted to include an activity that fit into the theme, and also an activity that I think would be appreciated by this demographic. The Museum is dedicated to showcasing how Japanese people have lived throughout history, by completely recreating historically-accurate houses that can be walked through, and also streets, and neighborhoods where living quarters were located. Also, please note that this is the only day that I don't have a private bus on the itinerary currently, however we can change that. It is currently set up this way so that the group can experience using the trains while here in Japan. This day has most of its activities relatively close to stations, so it was chosen out of all of the days on the itinerary, because of the low level of walking involved. This
The second suggestion is the TeamLab Botanical Garden. TeamLab is very famous for their futuristic art exhibits, but this one is more focused on nature. It is difficult to describe, so please take a look at this video to give yourself an idea of what it's like:

Day 11 (4/13): Osaka

  • two guides
  • breakfast
  • dinner
  • private bus
  • activities mentioned in description

all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • Osaka Street tour
    • Dotonbori
    • Shinsaibashi
  • Umeda Sky Building visit
  • Kobe steak dinner

Planner's Notes: The Itinerary for this day is unchanged from what was sent to us. We did however put in the steak dinner at a Kobe restaurant. This can be altered if you feel as though it would be best to include a restaurant or place where there are more options for food outside of meat.

Day 13 (4/14): Osaka ---> Tokyo

  • two guides
  • breakfast
  • dinner
  • transfer to airport
  • activities mentioned in description

all things not mentioned

Activities:

  • n/a

Planner's Notes: Airport drop-off will be arranged.
